About Reflections Dance Studio
Reflections Dance Studio was taken over by Emma Fitzgerald in 2023. Pursuing excellence and reflecting love has always been at the heart of our dance studio. We offer classes from toddler to adult so you’re sure to find what you’re looking for.
In 2016, Our Reflections hip hop competition team qualified for World Dance Championship in New York, where they received 8th place overall! Our studio family couldn’t have been more supportive or proud. Since then, the team has represented in numerous competitions. Also making it back to Worlds in 2017.
Reflections Dance specializes in dance education and instilling the love and passion into our students for it. Each instructor here is passionate about what they do and we would love to share our dance home with you.
Your Instructors
Emma Fitzgerald
Emma Fitzgerald, the newest owner of Reflections Dance, had been a student at Reflections Dance since 2013 and served as an assistant student teacher from 2015 to 2020.
Throughout her years of study, Emma has focused on refining her skills in various dance styles, including classical ballet, pointe, lyrical, tap, modern, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, jazz funk, and acrobatic arts. She dedicated herself to competitive dancing for over 10 seasons.
During her competitive career, Emma participated in duet/trio, small group, large group, and solo divisions, contributing to the numerous trophies proudly displayed at the studio today. One notable achievement was her role as the team captain of Reflections Dance’s first hip hop team to compete at the World Dance Championships in New York City. In 2016, her leadership led the team to a Top 10 placement overall, securing the impressive 3rd position worldwide.
Emma feels deeply honored to share the wealth of skills and knowledge she has acquired over the years with her students. She eagerly looks forward to working with each dancer and helping them reach their full potential. Let the dancing commence!
Jennifer Fitzgerald
Jennifer Fitzgerald , originally from New Hampshire, has been a resident of Citrus County for 30 years and has raised her two children there. Since 2013, she has been an integral part of the Reflections Dance family.
As a proud parent, Jennifer has witnessed her daughter’s remarkable growth both as a dancer and as a young woman, bringing her immense joy. Now, she eagerly anticipates the opportunity to embark on this wonderful dance journey alongside you and your family, sharing in the passion and excitement that dance brings.
Ashley Evans
Ashley Evans, serves as an instructor at Reflections Dance. Ashley’s journey in dance began at the School of Dance Arts, where she dedicated 10 years of her life from 2004 to 2014. During her time there, she actively participated in the annual American Academy of Ballet’s Performance Awards, earning prestigious accolades ranging from Silver with Distinction to Gold with Distinction.
Ashley’s dance education encompassed various styles, including ballet, jazz, tap, and contemporary. In 2013-2014, she took on the role of director and choreographer for the summer productions at ABC Preschool Academy. Following that, from 2014 to 2018, she served as a choreographer for Lecanto High School’s Choir and Drama departments, as well as Lecanto Middle School’s Choir and Drama productions.
Upon completing her high school education, Ashley relocated to Pensacola, FL, where she enrolled in the University of West Florida to earn a degree in Music Education. After she returned to the Nature Coast, she was the Music Director for Stage West Community Playhouse’s production of “Mary Poppins Jr” in Spring Hill. Presently, she has been at Reflections Dance for a year and is Lecanto High School’s new Drama Director.
Lisa Townsend
Lisa Townsend is the newest addition to Reflections Dance Studio teaching staff. Although new to the studio, she brings over 13 years of dance experience with her.
Lisa’s career in dance started early. Originally from New England, she studied at Center Stage Dance Academy (CSDA) in Tyngsborough, Massachusetts. During her many years as a dancer Lisa was trained in all different styles of dance, including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, and Point, performing in collaborations and solo dances, eventually being asked to join Center Stage Dance Academy (CSDA) Company. Lisa then started competing in different genres of dance earning many regional titles for performances in competition.
Lisa has a true passion for dance and teaching. She feels it is important for her students to feel confident, motivated, and inspired at all times and that they are in an environment they feel comfortable in. Lisa wants to see her students succeed, be proud of their accomplishments and enjoy all the hard work and dedication they put in. She is excited to be joining Reflections and share her love of dance with all her students!
